Accreditation process:

Application

A completed application form, quality manual, Quality and technical SOPs, forms, agreement and fee are to be submitted by the applicant and a document review will be conducted by PNAC, whether the application is acceptable or otherwise.

 

  • Application Fee = Rs. 50,000/- (nonrefundable) 
  • Application Fee for Foreign Country= $250/- (nonrefundable)

Pre-assessment

An initial review (onsite gap analysis) of the documentation and a feedback session between the organization and assessment team will be conducted onsite by PNAC.

  • Fee = Rs. 50,000/- (excluding tax)
  • Fee= $800/- for Foreign Country CABs
  • Logging, boarding, travel cost, hotel stay and any other cost shall be borne by the applicant lab.

 

Full Assessment

A four man days initial assessment will be conducted for a normal scope of one lab by an assessment team including lead assessor and technical expert.

  • Approxcimate Fee = Rs. 200,000/- (excluding tax) NOTE: Fee is dependent on the applied scope.
  • Approxcimate Fee= $5000/- for Foreign Country CABs
  • Logging, boarding, travel cost, hotel stay and any other cost shall be borne by the applicant lab.

 

Corrective Actions

If the assessment team indicates that your laboratory needs to take corrective action, it’s nothing to become alarmed about.  However, all non-compliances must be addressed and corrective action is taken before accreditation can be granted. Your corrective action response must include a copy of objective evidence, such as calibration certificates, laboratory procedures and training records, to indicate that corrective actions have been implemented and completed unless otherwise specified by the assessment team.

 

Review Process

The assessment team make a recommendation to the relevant reviewer. The reviewer thoroughly reviews the case and recommend award of accreditation to the Director General (DG).

 

Accreditation Awarded

The decision making authority is the DG PNAC. After approval by the DG, the certificate of accreditation is prepared and issued to the CAB. The organization receives a certificate, the accreditation mark and scope of accreditation

 

Surveillance

Undertaken annually to ensure continued compliance with the standard(s)

 

Re-assessment

This is carried out every 3rd years
